Supreme Court of Alabama Appoints Gregory Hawley to Standing Committee
The Supreme Court of Alabama has appointed Gregory H. Hawley of White Arnold Andrews & Dowd P.C. to the Standing Committee on Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure. This committee has engaged in a side-by-side comparison of the Alabama rules with the federal rules over the past six years. Based on its findings, this committee recommends amendments for adoption by the State of Alabama to address any non-conforming rules in the area of discovery. The committee will also immediately address the discovery rules involving electronically stored information, and will consider whether recent amendments to the federal rules of electronic discovery can serve as a model for changing Alabama rules.
