Gregory H. Hawley Elected Birmingham Bar’s President-Elect

Birmingham – At its recent annual meeting, the 4000 member Birmingham Bar Association elected Gregory H. Hawley (White Arnold & Dowd P.C.) as its President-Elect. He will serve as the Bar Association’s president in 2010.

Hawley’s practice at White Arnold & Dowd consists of Civil Litigation, Environmental Tort Actions, and Class Actions involving products liability and consumer fraud.

In addition to his Birmingham Bar Association involvement, Hawley is presently serving in his first three year term as a Bar Commissioner of the Alabama State Bar for the 10th Judicial Circuit of Jefferson County. He is also a member of the Alabama Bar Foundation and serves as a mentor with the State Bar Mentoring Program.

Prior to his election, Hawley served as a member of the Birmingham Bar’s Executive Committee, its Judicial Campaign Oversight Committee, the Increased Minority Participation Committee, and served as Vice-Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee and the Constitution and By-Laws Committee.

Hawley earned his undergraduate degree (cum laude) from Harvard College and his law degree from Georgetown University. He also served as Law Clerk to the Honorable U.W. Clemon, Chief Judge, Northern District of Alabama, with whom he will begin practicing law in February.
